LSAT or Law School Admission Test is to be taken by the students who are keen to get admission in the law colleges in US and its territories. The LSAT exam is conducted by LSAC, which is an independent agency. LSAC or Law School Admission Council conducts LSAT as well as provides assistance to both law colleges and test takers in the admission process. The LSAT exam is conducted four times in a year. Usually these test dates fall in the months of February, June, October and December.

The basic fee for the LSAT exam is US$127 for US and $138 for Canada. LSAC has a facility called Law School Data Assembly Service or LSDAS, which makes the registration procedure easier for you. You can register for this service at the time of registration for the exam. LSDAS compiles your undergraduate/graduate records, your LSAT test scores, your LSAT percentile and your recommendation letters to make a report and sends it to the law schools where you have applied. The LSAT exam consists of five sections plus one writing test. The scores of the LSAT exam depend on the scores of four sections: namely reading comprehension, analytical reasoning, and two logical reasoning sections. The fifth section is a variable section and is an unscored section. All the sections consist of multiple-choice questions and are of 35 minutes each. The total number of questions is 101. In the reading section there are 27 questions and the analytical reasoning section consists of 25 questions. There are two logical reasoning sections; both of them consist of 25 questions each. The variable section consists of about 25 questions.
The LSAT exam is graded on a scale of 120-180. First raw scores are computed on the basis of the number of questions, which you have answered correctly. Then these raw scores are converted to scaled scores. Apart from this score you are also given a percentile score. The writing section comprises of an essay that is not graded. It is imaged and sent as it is, to the law colleges.
